Our Design Process

Congrats you’ve hired a ND decorator. Now what?

Our first meeting on our project start date is the first to occur. We can do this in person or virtually. At this time we will review your design board, chat about any changes you want to make and go over your budget for the space. We will also discuss contractors needed, the order they will be used and schedule them for quotes for you to approve.

What happens once we have a game plan?

We will meet with contractors needed for their quotes. Comparative quotes may be needed and we are happy to arrange this. Then ND will book your contractors to determine the ultimate timeline for the project. You can expect items on the board selected will be priced and ordered at your request and approval once our timeline is set in motion. Should backorders occur we will adjust the timeline accordingly with your approval. *Timelines these days should be determined flexible due to unforeseen circumstances like Covid delays.

My items are ordered, what happens now?

Your decorator will be in contact with you on a regular basis to discuss shipments and deliveries. We often joke that we become texting buddies with our clients, as we like to make sure that you are in the loop as much as you’d like.


ND can hold deliveries for you at vendor warehouses until they are needed or have smaller items shipped to our inventory room. Some clients choose to have all items shipped directly to their home, but this is not necessary. Through our experience we know that deliveries require many moving parts and we do our best to stay on top of everything so you can simply enjoy your new space!


Please Note: While we cannot personally bring items over 50lbs into your home, we are happy to schedule movers for you should they be needed. We can also let movers into your home for you in most cases.

Your magical install day is approaching and all your goodies have arrived so what can you expect?

Once everything is delivered then we set our official Design Install Date with you. Clients do not need to be present for the Install Day & it can often be fun for you to see the room(s) at the end of the day for the full reveal experience.

Design Install Day often requires the use of one of our handyman contractors. Our handymen own their own companies and we highly recommend them to properly mount items. They are an additional 50.00 per hour in most cases. We will always ask your approval before hiring our handymen, but trust us - you don’t want us hanging items as that is not our forte.

To make this day fun and stress free for you, smaller decor pieces used in the Design Install will be immediately billed to ND and you will have the opportunity to purchase these items after you live with them in your space for 3 days. Most clients choose to keep everything as is after the install, but we prefer to keep our process pressure free and want your room to work for you and your everyday life, so if you need to return any of the accessories used that’s okay!


**After Install Day is complete, it is time for you to ENJOY YOUR NEW ROOM!
